99 grand caravan 3.3L electrical issues

my fiances dad has this van and when it sits it dies and kills the battery to the point where it wont even accept a charge he thinks it is the alternator. i feel that it may be a parasitic drain. i am goin to go down to help him next weekend with it and i want to see if anyone has any good suggestions before i go... i will check the alternator but if it is parasitic drain is there someplace specific i should be looking? thanks in advace for your advice!!

As you probably already know, with engine running you should see 13.5 VDC or greater at the battery posts if alternator is good. So first clean battery posts and leads, then hook up a multi-meter by removing the negative battery cable and putting the leads between the cable and the negative post. With this done, you should see no greater than 50 milliamps draw,if you see more, wait 10-15 minutes and re-test, if the reading is still to high, with meter hooked up start pulling and replacing fuses (one at a time) and when the amp reading drops, you have isolated the system causing the parasitic current draw.
