FS Barry Grant Mighty Demon 650cfm Carb

Hello Guys,

I have 1 more Barry Grant Mighty Demon 650cfm Carb for sale. I sold one to a panoz owner and I would love to find another familiar home for this carb. It was bought to put a hurt on all those other cars and it needs to keep holding the flag high

Here is the mfg'er website:
http://www.barrygrant.com/demon/default.aspx?page=14

I looked online and see that the good prices are around $550 for the carb and then another $50-$75 for the dual fuel lines with SS hoses and AN fittings. I was looking for $450 plus shipping with the SS braided fuel line and dual AN fittings. That is what I sold the first one for.

Let me know if your interested. I wont post it on ebay or other forums without first seeing if a panoz owner wants it.

Re: FS Barry Grant Mighty Demon 650cfm Carb

Hi Brian
I'm in the process of building up an LS2 6.0L out of an '06 Corvette to go in my GTA and I have a Vic Jr intake manifold already, so........ but I'm thinking the BG 650CFM carb would be a little small for this engine, thoughts???????????? It's still got the stock cam for now, but plan for a bigger cam after I get used to the stock 400hp LS2. Price seems right , but I'm thinking the carb is to small, thoughts????

Re: FS Barry Grant Mighty Demon 650cfm Carb

I am hardly and engine guy but I will tell you my 7.0L 427 is running with a Holley 390cfm with a victor jr. puts out 500hp and the 650cfm BG put a little over 600hp and was too much. A larger carb would put out more power and I am sure there is a point where it would be too much. Its all in the tuning of carbs from what I learned (at least on an engine that isnt maxed out of power). I would have never thought the 390 would even run on our motors. We had the BG on a 392 crate motor that we bought and it ran fine putting out about 475hp. I guess it depends on what the engine could put out and what you want it to put out and you tune to that. Does that make sense? I emailed my engine builder who is more of an LSx specialist and asked him.

Re: FS Barry Grant Mighty Demon 650cfm Carb

Boy, I would have thought a 390cfm carb would just choke off your 427 stroker. I have a 750HP CFM on my 392W stroker motor in my Cobra Kit car and it runs great from 2000 to 6500 RPM. I'm supprised your motor runs so great with the 390CFM carb, but hay, what do I know, all that depends is the final result, and if it works, run with it.
I'm interested to hear what your engine builded says. Are you running a sbf, sbc or Ls series stroker, I forget?
I'm also toying with just using the stock LS2 fuel injection system and computer set up. Would be really nice to use all those GM engineering $$$ spent tuning the LS2 series engine soft ware packages for something other than going to the Publix.

Re: FS Barry Grant Mighty Demon 650cfm Carb

I have a SBF Dart block. The 390 cfm carb is used alot as a restrictor. I think its labeled the NASCAR carb...

Its a racing carb: http://www.holley.com/0-80507-1.asp

Like I said before the tune is the key and the sum of the parts. I will let you know when my engine builder replies.

Re: FS Barry Grant Mighty Demon 650cfm Carb

On the LS engines, use larger than normal carbs...the LS engines make lots of signal and love big carbs in road racing, drag racing and street driving.

Paul - talk Chris Bailey and get in touch with Mike, his engine guy that does the engines for Mosler down in your area.
