So it's #033, rebuilt after this accident then?

<- click

That could certainly explain the "Year of Manufacture 1999" discrepancy.

Also, I recall reading that it wasn't that #033 could not be repaired, but rather that the owner chose to order a new F1 to replace it, which was #040. Interesting too, or at least it seems to be a connection in my mind, that both have high mirrors.

- perhaps, anyway.

The date of that accident was ~June of 1995, as I recall - which would have meant it sat around for a long time before anyone decided to spend the money to rebuild it.

Le Man - I have been told the spare chassis was used on a different F1. PM me if you don't know which one.

1998 YEAR BUILD:- #075 The last F1 ever built,

1999 YEAR BUILD:- #076 its as simple as that . yes, the last F1 "EVER BUILT"

Hows that, for collective inspiration Yes!! I got two off my brain cells to work together

Not unless your advisor/friend would like to elaborate further.

I'm guessing 050. Based on the location of these shots, the fact that Ron Dennis was the last confirmed owner and the McLaren owned plate, thats my guess

Phil
The spare chassis is listed as the last built in 98, on the DA poster.

Never seen any scans of the poster, what exactly are you after?

All the info i have:

050 1995 Magnesium Silver

… - Ron Dennis? Autocar 22nd Nov 1995: "Yet production of the F1 is currently running at one a month - chassis number 50, Dennis’ personal machine, was recently completed. Put simply, it has not earned its keep"

Re: Silver high-mirrored F1 spotted in London

Is a plate registered to a car or a company? How can you search via a plate when the plate has been on a bunch of other cars? If this plate was on XPLM wouldn't the year of manufacture show 1999 as well?

Aren't we running into the same problem with that brown mexican drug lord F1? It has David Clark's plate on it

Re: Silver high-mirrored F1 spotted in London

All plates get transfered to the car, a company can keep a plate on retention. The year of manufacture will allways be as the original VIN year. Which, on this particular F1 would make interesting reading!!

Re: Silver high-mirrored F1 spotted in London

Thanks Le man and Greg, if I can read it, it's cool. But I can use mine, true, without scratching it...

Yes, me too, is suprised by this year in the DVLA. You note sparechassis (thanks) is the last but is it sure it was made in 1998 ? Why not later ?

And if it was used, so, this F1 would be the last produced.

I should probably redo my folders, and reorganize them by basic chassis number first. Instead mine are organized by F1 type, and then owner or by livery in the case of the GTRs. I don't even have folders for cars I don't have photos of, but of course there is a folder for a car like Stroll's where we have pics, but no chassis number.

Would be a real pain to change everything at this late date, and I'd have to totally adjust my brian for when I went to go look for something.

Just checked and I am at 928 folders right now. Don't ask...
