92 Park Ave cooler lines

Hi, my car was smoking really bad from under the hood this morning as I pulled into the parking lot. Come to find out, the rubber hose blew out of the metal crimping that comes from the automatic transaxle. There are two lines coming from it and going to the radiator. Looking at the transaxle, it is the top one. I have looked online at autozone and they have 4 different lines but I have no clue as to which one I need them to special order for me. Could someone please look for me, autozone was of no help. Also, with what happened, all I would really need to do is just replace the line and add some more tran fluid right?

Thanks.

Here is the link to autozone parts that they have to choose from.

Re: 92 Park Ave cooler lines

you've answered your own question... TOP line...

and based upon your observation, you don't have an auxillary cooler

soo, you narrowed them down to part # A61243 or # B61242

either you pre-order both and return the one that doesn't look like your original hose

or take a good look at the metal bends of the existing hose assembly on your vehicle and compare it to the online parts illustrations... and buy the right one from there

good luck; if i can't confirm it by looking under the hood, i'd just pre-order all 3 of them (the 4th one is ommitted since it's for the bottom line) and return the ones you don't use for a refund

<shrugs>

as for the oil, i suggest changing out the fluid and filter/gasket while your under there

i have no idea how bad the transmission's clutch packs burned/worn after that fiasco, though which is why i suggest a fluid/filter/pan gasket change as well

Re: 92 Park Ave cooler lines

Thanks ricebike, problem is that I can't find any good illustrations online or in my Haynes and I can't recall what it looks like exactly. I have the A61243 on order through autozone. Hopefully it is the right part.
