Still no update as to the status on this car - if it can be rebuilt, if the work is in progress, or what. I do hope that it can be brought back to life, as people close to the owner said that beyond the financial impact, the owner was very upset over losing the car.

I have also heard a rumor that McLaren will actually be issuing a formal recall on all F1s in 2010. When I heard that, it made the most sense that what they would need to fix could be related to whatever issue caused this fire. Perhaps it will be on an unrelated item though. I guess if the recall makes "news" we'll find out - or maybe an owner will be willing to share the details with one of us?
