ABS Light comes On and Off 06 GMC Sierra

I have a 2006 GMC sierra 4x4 crew cab 5.3 ltr vortec.

The last 2 days or so the ABS/brake light with the meassage on the DIC saying "service brake system". The light comes on for about 2 stops and and turns off itself on the next startup.

My question is what is possible going on?

The wheel hubs(bearings) were changed 3 weeks ago.Is The computer correcting the problem or is there something wrong with the ABS? Before i take it to the dealership and have to make monthly payments for parts.

I have scanned for codes with a regular scan tool(INNOVA) for P codes and find nothing.

Thanks for any help
Mike

It needs to be scanned with a high line scanner that is set up for abs diagnosis, then codes and wheel speed sensor inputs can be monitored.

OK Thanks Maxwedge. I just bought the truck on the 15 of Dec and the truck needed rotors and pads besides the bearing hubs units for safety check. I really don't know much history on the truck and the dealer says they changed the heater core and steering box also.
I don't know if the ABS was a problem in the past or not. I called them and they said sometimes the connections get moisture in them. Also said that if the light stayed on for four cycles (on off starts) like you said they would have to scan the system. I didn't understand it was a seperate system--again thanks for that info.

Appreciated Mike
