obd2 plug scan tool will not connect

I need to know what the wire colors are and what the go to. I just got a 97 blazer that someone has been doing some kind of crappy wiring job on and has melted part of the 0bd2 plug. So now I need to know where to look at for the problem. My scan tool will not connect to the car. Any help would be great
