94 s10 egr problem

i have a 94 s10 blazer with 4.3L vortech vin w.... runs great and everything but we took out for a 4 hour trip xmas eve and about 10 mins before we got off the exit the check engine light came on and when we stoped it idled rough and wanted to die... about 20 mins later after unloading the suv i started it it still sounded bad but seem to start running better.. the trouble code i got was 32 which autozone said either egr valve or open map sensor circuit.... i started it about 24 hours later starts and runs fine what should i do or should i just run some good cleaner through it to get it home.. and can i spray carb cleaner in the intake of plenum and clean some of the carbon build up any info to get it home saftly without messing it up... would be greatly appreciated... any answer to get me farther than i am would be great.. i am to the point of thinking its egr valve and run some good cleaner and be ok until i get home.. and do i spray starter or carb cleaner through it... thanks
