'95 Cutlass Supreme won't start

Ok here is the muck on this vehicle. A couple of months ago when in the vehicle after starting it the door locks would start buzzing like the switch was shorting out. I pulled the door lock fuse and aside from having to manually lock all the doors everything seemed ok. Then a couple of weeks later it would not start, that is, turn over. It was shortly after I had noticed a very faint smell of burnt wires. I sort of dismissed the thought at the time. My mechanic pulled out the dash under the steering wheel and said some wires had shorted. So he replaced the wires and every thing was ok except the car sounded louder like there was a hole in the exhaust. Then a week ago, after a cold snap it would not start again. That is, again no click, nothing. My mechanic had told the security system had been compromised and then had me get a anti-theft module. So picked one up at the junkyard for $35 and he put it in and now it does start and run better but he said there is two more modules that may be affected but needed to do some more research to learn more. He said it tests electrically better but there is still something wrong. Does anybody have any knowledge of this security system on this car at all? What other two modules could this be? My mechanic did tell me to put in a new switch on the drivers door also. Thanks for any help.

Not enough info, what modules is he talking about and are you still having problems?

I am not sure what modules and I am not sure if my mechanic knows which ones they are either. The car starts and runs smoother but he said it is still not testing electrically like it should. He said there is something still trying to drain the battery.

Usually testing battery drain involves a multimeter and pulling fuses to narrow down where the culprit is. I have a 95 supreme, 2dr. The key is not a computer chip but a resistor. It can go bad, or the pins inside the ignition won't read the key. There is a workaround, involves disconnecting the two wire connector(small wires) and wiring in a resistor to fool the ignition switch. Located above drivers knees. You have to determine your key resistance. Pretty easy. Symptoms are that turn the key, all the lights stay on but nothing happens. Also, had an intermittant symptom as above, bad negative battery cable. One day it could pull the required current, next day it couldn't.
