My girlfriends 2002 sunfire abs light has been on for awhile so we went to the mechanics to get it scanned, the mechanic said its the front right sensor, so she purchased one for $70, and I put it on for her today. We took it for a test drive and the lights still on... ugh.
Am I suppose to reset it somehow? I replaced my sensors in my volkswagen jetta and the light went off immediatly by itself. I didnt have to reset it. We tried disconnecting the battery, taking it on a test drive, and pressing on the brakes several times.. The mechanic was positive its the passanger side one, please help. |

Re: 2002 sunfire abs reset?
You replaced the passenger front?
The light comes on right after you start it? If it does than its failing its self test. Are you sure the harness is in good shape. These are pretty well known for the wires breaking/corroding in the harness. This would also cause the light to come on right after you start it.

yeah it was on the passenger side..
I hope that she didn't have to dish out 70 bucks for an already good sensor, when its just the wire. That would make sense though I owned a cavalier and the wires were very brittle looking. I'll take it back for her to the store if its just the wires, thanks for your help |
