2000 Yukon Denali
When I shift from park to drive or reverse to drive, when i roll the first 2 feet or so a huge CLUNK with happen underneath the front end it appears. Lastnight I was pulling out of a store parkinglot from reverse to drive and BAM a verrry large clunk and then the truck wont move anymore, drive wont catch reverse wont catch... i put it in park and the truck will roll backwards, I had to get it home in 4x4 cause I couldnt leave it there, there was a repeated clinking noise as i was in 4x4 but I was going about 5 kms the whole way, a mechanic was near by when it happened and he said it sounded like the pinion was gone, anyone have any ideas? Thanks..
