Fuel Info Display (MPG, Range) Reset
I have a 97 Regal GS, the gas guage has not worked for years. Everything on the drivers side information display that shows you MPG, Instand MPG, Oil Life, Boost & Range has worked except the RANGE (how many miles you can drive before running out of gas).
I haved just replaced the Fuel Sender Assembly and now the gas guage works, but the RANGE still doesn't, the buttons have a reset, but it only resets the oil life, or MPG, it doesn't reset the RANGE. How can I do this? |

Re: Fuel Info Display (MPG, Range) Reset
I will have to check mine but I don't think the range resets. The range I believe is just a running calculation based on fuel available and engine output.

When you say the range doesn't work. Is it not showing a number?

Re: Fuel Info Display (MPG, Range) Reset
When on the Range funtion it just says "LOW", even when I have a full tank. I read somewhere that the computer takes the average MPG for the last 25 miles and calculates with the level of fuel in the tank, how many miles you have till you run out of gas. If that was true, it would now have a number there since I have driven almost 1000 miles since replacing the fuel sending unit.
