1966 Shelby GT350 Hertz

Hey Guys

Heres some pics of my Shelby that I finished yesterday, Got it as a Xmas gift last year from a work mate & have throughly enjoyed building it.
Mostly as per out of the box, I added wiring & plumbing, Photoetched fastners & some detail painting. I also had to lower the wheels significantly, finally mounted the body & chassis & test fitted the wheels, It was nearly 13mm off the ground (thats about a Foot in 1:1 terms), I dont remember Ford releasing a 4x4 mustang, so decided to rectify this, ive managed to lower the wheels down to a hight that looks pretty close to some ref pics I had... Anyway..
Let me know what you think
Thanks
Ash

The front wheel looks heavily cambered, but i think its just the way i moved it to take the photo

Much better than before

Thanks for looking

Ive heard a rumor that Santas bringing me the
Scale Productions 1967 Shelby GT500 - Eleanor, cant wait!!
Ash

Nice!! Those decals must have been a bear to get around the hood scoop.

Very neat build. Lowering it was a great idea - looks perfect.

Thanks guys,
Yes the decals where a challenge, esp the hood scoop, luckly Revell made them right
& they stood up to Mircosol.
Hood pins where from a Tamiya Subaru WRC PE set i think
Thanks again

Looks really nice, an excellent clean finish! I have lowered the one I am building too, I found that it can't be lowered any more than you have done unless you are prepared to do a lot more mod's with the chassis due to top of the tyres clashing with the inner wheel arches, I assume you had the same issues?

Yes, I had the same issue. Although I didnt want to go too low, then the tyres would be inside the arches too much, ref photos showed that it is kinda high with the top of the tyres a bit below the top of the arch. I also think the revell tyres have a much too big side profile. Thanks for looking
