Tamper resistant torx tool for MAF ?
All, running in "backup mode" with the MAF sensor unplugged on my 2000 GTP.
The new sensor is ordered, I noted "tamper resistant" torx fasteners on the sensor body. I checked the archives and the repair section without a clear line on where to get the tool. Some ideas are: order one from McMaster carr, get from AutoZone (et al) or break out the center post from the torx recess (!!) and then use standard tools. Any others?

Yeah, I have a whole kit of snap on bits and a screwdriver. I don't think it was very expensive if I remember right.

Re: Tamper resistant torx tool for MAF ?
when my MAF went bad, i bought a set of tamper proof bits (kind of like an allen wrench set) at Auto Zone. If i remember right, i think the set was like $7.00

Also try MCM Electronics for the kit of anti-tamper screws for like $7.95. It is a good place for getting tools.

Re: Tamper resistant torx tool for MAF ?
Just as a followup I resolved this problem a different way. Local AutoZone could not find the set in their computer despite me providing the part number from their website. Called the regional office to find there were 3 available in the area but they didn't know where but I could "order" them to the local store which would take a couple of days.
Not having sufficient patience and not wanting to drive all over the place, I got out my dremel tool with a "dental bit" and the problem was resolved in under 5 minutes. Reduced the anti-tamper posts to metal flake, blew off the flakes, and the normal T20 bits worked perfectly. Thinking more about this, I think the throttle body is a purchased assembly from Hitachi with the MAF already installed and they didn't want other plants moving/swapping sensors around during repair activities. Other than that I can't think of a good reason for it. Also of interest is that while running with the MAF disconnected I had no SES activity (around 700 miles total). I do know the SES is working as I had a solid light before I replaced the crank sensor and ICM. The light turned itself off after those two sensors were replaced.

Re: Tamper resistant torx tool for MAF ?
Yeah, I bought a ZZP stage 1 t-body which came with regular allen bolts instead of the tamper proot t20's.
So with your MAF unplugged for 700 miles, the SES light did not come on?..... Interesting!
