car not same when cold

ive been haveing this issue for the past few days now.it seems that when the weather or the temperture hits below 35 degrees, the car doesnt run the same,if i give it gas it takes a while to get up to speed.seems like it needs to warm up till it starts running fine.i try to warm the car for about 10 to 15 minutes before i moveit.but that dont help,it only helps when the car has been driven for a couple of minutes.then it drives fine.any idea.thank you

Re: car not same when cold

It would help to post the year, model and engine since the throttle control systems vary.

Re: car not same when cold

Interesting.....

Even after 10-15 minutes of running the car is not running right?

Have you cleaned the throttle body yet? I know there is a TSB out there about drivability issues associated with the 3800 drive by wire systems. The TSB recommends cleaning the throttle plates.

Make sure you use t-body cleaner, and if you remove it off the supercharger, make sure to install a new gasket.

Re: car not same when cold

The temp guage works fine.the car has been running great for the past 4 winters, until now and it really hasnt got cold yet.maybe it went below 35 once or twice, the first time, thats when i first noticed it.the other thing ive done was to flush the heater core.other than that, the car has been good to me

Re: car not same when cold

when it starts getting warm the temperature gauge goes a little past the half mark, and then it drops back to just balow the half mark and it stays there for the rest of the drive.sorry for the late reply

Sounds normal to me. Are you still having issues? Have you cleand the throttle body? What brand gas are you using?

Re: car not same when cold

These cars do not need spark plugs replacement till 1000,000 miles and the issue that you are having is not gas but a "cts" problem (coolant temperature sensor) that's a common problem on this cars

Re: car not same when cold

Where is your premium unleaded coming from? Holiday? BP? Kwik Trip? Cenex?

I try to only run 91 or better Top Tier gas in my GTP
