Just sit them out side by side, and do everything to get the one from the 84 like the 87 was. Switch your intake, pulleys, etc. etc. Why do you need the fuel pump off the 84, is the one bad on the 87. If you swap out everything different from 87 to the 84 motor it should need the same fuel pump the 87 has in it. Go over both engines real well and make sure they have all the same sensors and plug types in the same locations.

I did catch it right what you are doing right?

Re: 84 to 87 engine swap/carb. to throttle body is it possible and what will i need t

everything you said sounds right to me except the fuel pump the 84 has the fuel pump on the block (front driver side like the older v8's had) and the 87 has the fuel pump in the tank it looks to me like the 87 has a block off where the mechanical fuel pump used to be and it has a fuel filter there now
i need to know if the block and everthing else is the same i don't think they changed them from 84 to 87 other than the carb. to throttle body and could i still use the old v-belt set up or would it benefit me to change over to the serpentine belt and what would the advantage be

the serpintine belt system is supposed to be more efficient with less work for the engine.
