2006 Silverado,,IS the Dealer playing fair?

My 2006 has 28000 miles and notice the brake pedal feels like its pushing back when coming to a slow easy stop. No ABS light or anything, took it to dealer they said it needed pad and rotors turned and system flushed. I told them to do so..$400.00 later the problem is still there, I read try pulling the ABS fuse. I did so and no braking problem now. But the dealer said after the first service I needed a LF Hub Assy another 750.00. Is the Hub Assy something anyone could do or only dealer

Yes you or a good repair shop can replace the front bearing/hub.
And a lot cheaper than 750$$

But make sure that is the real problem first before throwing parts at it.

YOU NEED A GOOD REPAIR SHOP WITH A ABS CAPABLE SCANNER TO CHECK IT OUT.
Post back any ABS codes.
I would be looking around for a good repair shop.

Check around Ask around
Word of mouth.
Family friends coworkers neighbors business people and delivery people.
Mailmen and parcel delivery people get around and notice a lot of stuff.
Even a good parts house knows what shops are good and not good.
Chamber of commerce and better business bureau and city hall.
If you find a good referral to a repair shop go look them over and talk to them.
Look for a clean looking busy place with nice people running it.
Ask a few questions and ask about their qualifications and training.
Not all places have trained tech/mechanics.
If they do not find a place that does.
Even all dealers do not have all trained techs/mechanics.

Also, how about confronting the dealer that they did not fix the problem you brought the the truck in for, no?

the abs being the problem could be the front wheel bearing...this is where the speed sensors are..it could also be the abs module as well.

another issue was rust forcing out the front speed sensors causing a bad/low signal at slow speeds to cause what appears to be your issue .

the repair shop must make proper diagnostic test/data to make sure they are not replacing parts at YOUR expense...dealers and private shops do it...protect your self by insisting that the fix will correct the problem in writting NO excuses..

since the dealer gave you a brake job with your mileage was it needed ? seems low mileage..also cutting the rotors is not recommended . GM even states this in their repair manuals as this is unnecessary and causes early failures of the rotors. normally the rotors are replaced because of severe rust in the rust belt after 3-5yrs.

when this is resolved post back your results good luck..

I got it fixed at a local shop, it did need the speed sensor. Hub Assy fixed it no problem now. Dealer said they thought just doing what they did would fix the problem. Other than that dealer was done and told me to have a good day.

if it was the driverside hub assembly this seems to be common side for failure..I have read this on forums ..

yes driverside, man did I have some kind of rust every where, never seen so much.

Here in NYS they wouldn't get away with that, it is called ineffective repairs and a complaint to the NYS DMV would get results.

well I hope he didn't pay for the dealership $800.oo brake job...like some vehicle owners I know..
