Re: BAck to the Dyno! Ls1 update pics!
Eric, do you have 1 or 2 clamps on the Accusump? One thing to watch for with Accusumps is to not put to much pressure on the clamp/s as it squeezes the tube and slows the internal pistons travel/responsiveness. Last one I used I clamped it at either end so the clamps were bearing mainly on the tube end fittings.
Great to see that you have the beast ready to rumble Eric and look forward to hearing what sort of numbers it punches out. Also looking forward to hearing what you car weighs now with the LS motor. Good luck, Kel.

Re: BAck to the Dyno! Ls1 update pics!
So the initial report is good/bad.
The good.... they said the car is running great! Still have some tuning to do, they had to order a couple new jets for it. The bad... the power is down a little than i expected @ 369whp, not sure on torque yet, the top end power seems to be hurt by the crappy short tube headers, and would have been better to use a single plane intake manifold... but its a lot better than it was and i have some areas to improve on, but i'll take reliable over fast!

Re: BAck to the Dyno! Ls1 update pics!
Good to hear the car ran well Eric. At what rpm was the 369 peak power? What sort of dyno was it run on (i.e. Dynojet or other)?

Eric, how much beefing up did you have to do to the front end for the extra weight and torgue?

The process was very complex... Step 1 remove old engine Step 2, insert new engine Step 3 Save 185lbs and add @100hp ![]() The ls1 is lighter and cheaper to add power and should be as, or more reliable. no reinforcing is necessary, my car already has all the GTS chassis bracing plus some!

Re: BAck to the Dyno! Ls1 update pics!
I know that I have been told that my WC car will have to have a cross brace and maybe more chassis work to handle the torgue???

Re: BAck to the Dyno! Ls1 update pics!
SOme of the WC cars have the GTS bracing, some have some, and i guess some have none. hard to say.... but the GTS is 450hp stock so if you have the same bracing as a GTS(search for the thread here) then it should not need any extra. Anythig more than 450-500 and you will have to start worrying about chassis flex

Re: BAck to the Dyno! Ls1 update pics!
Our GTRA has all the GTS bracing... odd that the WC doesn't.
