A.I.R Solenoid

Hey does anyone know where on the 3.8 they called it an A. I. R. Solenoid is. It brought up a code that said it was this solenoid. Does anyone have any idea of where and what exactly it is. Can only buy it at GM for about 250 bucks. Thanks

Re: A.I.R Solenoid

What year and model grand prix are we talking?

How many miles? I would test the circuit before replacing anything.

What was the exact code that popped up? P0xxx?

Re: A.I.R Solenoid

its an 07 or 08 its my brother in laws, im not sure what code popped up exactly, he was told its the air solenoid. See he bought it from a dealership, bought the extended warrenty then his light came on and is remote start stopped working and they told him the code read to replace the air solenoid, but the warrenty does not cover it. If im not mistaken its on the exaust manifold correct? Thats all I know. Thank You for your help

Re: A.I.R Solenoid

no clue....? I've never worked on one with the air system before.

And remote start syops working if a code is stored? Thats sort of neat. Now if only they could make it quit if it loses oil pressure or if it overheats!

Re: A.I.R Solenoid

Well thats thing, I dont know if the remote stater is not working because of the valve or because of the code. That would be kinda interesting, but I am not sure. Ive dont some more research on it and what not and it sounds like it gets full of water and sticks shut, so I guess I will try finding the little thing and opening it up and seeing if its stuck. I wish I could see a picture of one so I know what I am looking for though haha.
