Angry 2005 Chrysler 300

Hello Yesterday my car drove fine. I got home about 3:40pm. Today when I tried to go somewhere it wouldn't shift into drive. I messed with it for about 20min turning the wheel pressing the breaks as far as they can go and still nothing. the car turns on but will not go into any gear besides park . anybody have any idea what is going on? I do not know anything about cars

Brake switch could be faulty meaning the shifter doesn't know you have the brake engaged.
