96 grand am flash the brain

96 grand am was hard to start so we had a dealer check they said it needed an ignition lock cylinder and an instument cluster totaling 800.00.does anyone know where insument cluster is located? and is the ignition lock cylinder the actual key ignition?please help me!!!if they did flash the brain does anyone know a way to do so?

That's the part that has your speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge, temp gauge, etc.

The ignition lock cylinder is the mechanical part that the key goes into. It is separate from the ignition switch.
