'95 Tracer Wipers Stay Up
Hello,
I have a '95 tracer wagon and the wipers work fine in slow and fast speed, but when you shut them off they stay up or where ever they were when turned off. Also the intermitton does not work. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Jim |

Re: '95 Tracer Wipers Stay Up
More than likely the motor is the fault. If the park circuit goes out, the wipers will not return to the parked position. It is possible the switch is bad, but I would bet on the wiper motor.

Re: '95 Tracer Wipers Stay Up
Thank you very much for the reply! I was thinking the motor, but I've heard it could be the switch also. Most of what I've found says the motor.
Thanks, Jim |

Re: '95 Tracer Wipers Stay Up
Well, I took it to the shop and they thought it was the motor. They installed the motor and that wasn't it. It was the switch on the steering column. $300 to have a used steering column installed because it contained other switches, air bag, sensors, etc. and was cheaper than a new switch. ($500) All this just to pass inspection!!! It failed because the wipers did not park.
