1991 Honda Accord front brakes

Hi all- Took her in for an alignment and was told I needed both upper and lower ball joints. So I replaced these and want to go back for an align but now I remembered someone said I need the upper control arm on the passenger side. I know the brake pad on that wheel wants to wear quicker than the other side. I checked the control arm and I don't see anything wrong with it. I am hoping I can replace the pads and then get an alignment. What could be wrong with this upper control arm that I am not seeing?
