Pemex has a high sulfur content and obviously Mexico has no clean air/emissions standards. Cuidad Juarez right across the border from El Paso has several Autozones but the parts are expensive compared to the U.S. and the stores are not well stocked with the parts you need. Most come across the border to the U.S. as a result and most do not have auto insurance either.

Moot issue anyways. Unless the SES/CEL light is on there will be nothing to scan for. Autozones in the U.S. normally do not run an odb-ii scan unless the SES/CEL light is on. But I guess anything goes in Mexico. You can purchase your own odb-ii scanner to check for DTCs which Autozone sells at least in the U.S.

As suggested check to make sure the boost bypass valve is fully closing at WOT or high acceleration. If that is good then there is probably an internal issue with the Eaton M90 Gen3 supercharger.

0-60 in 10sec? They must be mixing snails & turtles in that Pemex! Have you previously had any CEL's and took the car to a mechanic in Mexico? The shops down there are notorious for disabling the CEL light and not fixing the problem! Anyway, sounds like a clogged cat and some other problems to to me!

Re: gtp problems?

Yes there are two. One pre CAT and one post CAT. Since you do not have a converter installed which is not uncommon in Mexico the rear 02 sensor is irrelevant since it monitors converter efficiency only and any DTC like P0420 it may give off. The front 02 sensor is the one that helps control air/fuel mixture ratio in closed loop mode operation and keeps emissions in check. When you go WOT or pedal to the metal the front 02 sensor is not used since the PCM switches to open loop mode operation so it probably is not your problem.

Post the DTC that was retrieved.

Re: gtp problems?

ok i remembered. there is a plug in front of the boost valve under a wireharness. i dont know what it is or what it does but mine was unplugged for some reason and when i plugged it back in the car started running perfect again.

also if thats not it maybe check for vacuum leaks as im pretty sure they can cause similar problems

Re: gtp problems?

well for starters u definataly have a fuel/spark issue. replace filters and plugs/wires and only premium gas. as far as your boost guage u might have a throttle stop out of adjustment. your boost guage should max even at a stand still. good luck .:banghead :

Re: gtp problems?

The Rev limiter limits the RPM's so the boost cant max at just revving. In fact, I have never seen my boost register at all when I revved (although I don't sit there and rev my motor). Also, the 3800's to my knowledge do not have a throttle stop adjustment.

I think he found his problem, a vacuum leak due to shoddy repairs with electrical tape.
