I found a 350, need opinions

My mechanic knows somebody thats selling a 350 for $100. All i know is it is carbed and it NEEDS to be rebuilt. In my opinion thats short money but what do you guys think? I just got a new truck "to use in the winter instead of my caprice" so at least now if i do start working on my car i'll have something to drive in the meantime. How much will it cost to get it rebuilt? I'm not sure whats wrong with it yet but i'm gunna take a look at it soon. And i'm having the mechanic run the serial numbers so i can see what year it is and all that.

100 bucks isnt much at all. even if u got a motor from the junjyard you would want to rebuilt it anyways so it doesnt much matter what is wrong with it unless the block is cracked. the cost for rebuilding it depends on what u want. a stock rebuild probably a little over or near 1,000 bucks but that is just an estimate. and if you wanted performance parts such as heads and a cam to increase horse power you can spend alot of money.
