Your first? Ah, you lost your virginity! My first non-Dinky/Matchbox/Toy was a Minichamps 1:43rd Scale Mclaren F1 from Beatties in Aberdeen ... prepare for financial annihilation!

Harking back to a previous post, I recall buying the Davidoff Minichamps F1 in Amsterdam about 10 years back for around $50/€30/30 GBP. Two were remaining on the shelf. When I noted the fact with my model builder in Scotland, he exclaimed they were changing hands at swap meets there for 400 GBP. Both had vanished upon my return.

Murray - I'll reply when I get onto my home PC later today

Sami, it's another 1/43. I really wanted one of these before getting #07R in 1/43, but they rarely pop up on eBay and when they do they go for silly money. Needless to say I paid less for the LARK #13R than #07R

OK, this time there is Minichamps 60 LARK on sale at EBAY, 480$......
I love LARK livery, and it would look nice on the collection, but not that.......price....

Really?!!! The Lark's used to be premium range. Possibiliy only surpassed by the "tobacco" Minichamps from West and Davidoff. Mind you my fingers go "off the pulse" when I acquire my target.

I paid nowhere near that for mine

I had been watching the LARK #60 on a few auctions, and when I saw one come up not listed as a Mclaren F1 GTR, just a Mclaren GTR, the price was low and the bidding was low. It just goes to show, to sell you have to get the description spot on to get the best return. Same went for my GTR book - the seller spelt the authors name wrong, so I came across it by chance and bid far less than what others with no signatures went for

OK! An interesting stories! Yep, the 480$ is bit too much, just a bit, even that LARK livery is superb but.......
Your stories just shows that you must follow things so carefully that nothings goes buy, then you'll do a profit and get very cheap things, which normally would cost a hell lot more.

Re: The Definitive McLaren F1 Scale Model List.

How about a 1/12 F1 with the windscreen signed by Gordon Murray?

There is conversion decals to make the Lark JGTC, 97 LM and Suzuka 1000 cars and the Maboor (Mispelled purposely) 96 car.

http://www.hlj.com/product/MCLDC-290 (marked discontinued but still avaialable)

I've been slowly buying UT cars with the hopes of doing all of them. I have all the decals just need the time and a few more cars.

Re: The Definitive McLaren F1 Scale Model List.

New information about Minichamps releases this December.
Just find out, their website that all those 1/18 and 1/43 models, which was ment to release this December, have got some delay.

Now there is text :"available March 2010".
The 1/43 Road car is Febuary 2010.

So not to Christmass, but.....I think that good stuff is always good to wait....
