96 s-10 low beam headlights
Hi, I had only high beam lights. I figured bulbs, dimmer switch or wiring. The owner's manual states a relay would do that! Tryed new bulb and it worked so I went and got one for the other side and it also worked!
I've been a mechanic for a long time and have never seen two headlight's burn out at exactly the same time,Is it possible? Think just old headlight's or did something electical cause it? Thank's, Larry |

Re: 96 s-10 low beam headlights
If charging voltage is too high, it can cause bulbs to burn out prematurely. A poor headlight ground can also cause them to burn out however, your vehicles headlights each have their own ground and for both grounds to fail simultaneously would be way beyond coincidental. Charging voltage should be around 14.2 volts, if that's OK, I'd suspect bad bulbs.

Sometimes witin a 1/2 hr or hr of each other. And Some times it would happen on older type sealed beams. They are made to last so many hrs just like they were on a timer. That Reminds me of a old farmer one time that it happened to. He would not belive it. Had me replace his head light switch and dimmer switch and then finaly the bulbs before he would belive it.
