Accelerator sticking in reverse on 2006 Maxima

This is the second time my car took off in reverse. I had know control as the car just accelerated, span around, hit a curd and two other cars. The first time this happened I got control before hitting anything. Has anyone else had this problem? I have a 2006 Maxima.

Read the LATimes for Toyota RAV4; gives general idea of the related tech problems...

(I'd install a safety switch on dashboard which would cut off four (?) injectors.)
