-Disconnect all sensors & hoses
-Mount on hoist (or something if pulling out the bottom)
-Take off trans bolts

Not too bad at all. Mine's like that right now.

It goes without saying, but Dont forget the motor mount :-P

Also, make sure to mark all hoses and wires(masking tape and A-to-A, B-to-B, etc works for me). It can get really confusing when it's a month later and your trying to figure out where everything goes...

Ya I'm almost not looking forward to do that when my motor goes back in this week. Worked on these cars long enough to have a general idea, but since I took out a lot of thing, I have lots of loose ends. Can't wait

Re: engine removal question

well while removing things to get it to the bare block and trans altho i am removing just the block and not the trans.. the oil sending and return were so rusted they broke along with a couple other things looks like i will be ordering a 20g or t3/t4 kit to put on the car when it goes back together.. the long round deal that goes into the side of the water pump and across the front of block can i get rid of that if i get one of them turbo kist or does it serve another purpose

I thought you were going to scrap this car and look for something else. Why the change of heart, may I ask?
