Power to starter can start with screwdriver will run 1 sec and die security light is on

Ok, so I am lost. YOur car will not start with a key, you turn the ignition on, and jump the starter and it starts and dies?

Check the resister in your key, but I dont think that cuts off power to the solonoid.

You could check for B+ at the starter solonoid wire while an assistant turs the key to the "start" position.
