is there a way to bybass the heater core

hello,

my 1988 gmc s-15 jimmy 2 door 4.3l engine heater core is shot.and i have not got time to fix it yet.is there a way to bybass it for a week or 2 and will it hurt my truck.

Remove the hoses and put a piece if iron pipe nipple between them to bypass the circulation. No harm here.
