Re: Battery Saver Active Light
Welcome to AF.
The battery saver light is activated when the PCM module detects low battery output or charging system output. So have the battery and charging system (alternator) checked out. Also check the condition of the serpentine drive belt.

Re: Battery Saver Active Light
I am having the same issue after replacing both the starter and battery. I suspect that the "battery sensor" that is attached to the neg battery cable may play some part in this mystery. I am going to see if removing the sensor corrects the "battery saver active" issue. When my BSA displays it shuts down the AC controls, not a good thing in South Texas.

When BSA is active shutting down stuff is normal although you have an issue with the battery and/or charging system. What brand and rating battery was used? Due to the EPM (Electric Power Management) system it is recommended to stay with a stock Delco battery or the Delco Professional version. IMO the sensor is probably working properly. Also, what electrical loads do you have? Any aftermarket hi-power stereo system? Check the battery voltage. It should range from 11.5 to 15.5 volts. You can check it if you have the uplevel DIC. If not you can check it with a digital multimeter.

Thanks for the reply..I replaced Delco with the recommended Die Hard and the DIC shows a pretty constant 14 +. The BSA comes on about 10 to 20 minutes into my daily commute (both ways). I just reset by pressing the reply button on the DIC and restart the AC to get things working again and it does not repeat. I have upgraded stereo system to a aftermarket system with 40 watt amp and additional rear speaker and I have connected a Sirius Sportster receiver to it. I have to admit I was a little suspect of the batteries ability to handle the load. It sounds like I need to revisit the battery store. I drive a 06 Pontiac GP GT and it has all the power features that come with that model. I have also done a lot of mods to the car performance wise and luv driving it. I'm jealous of your GTP's and it broke my heart when they announced Pontiac was joining Oldsmobile, go figure.
