Re: VW Type 1 Delivery Van

For more realism I removed the centers of the wheels just like the original wheels.

I first drilled a hole in the center and than I used some diamond files. The wheelbolts are drilled with a 1mm drill.

Re: VW Type 1 Delivery Van

Finally another update for my vw bus

First I want to do was the interior floor. I wanted a wooden floor so I bought some wood at the local hobbystore.

After making a template I cutted out the wood and also added some bars (?) on it with a darker kind of wood.

I also gave it a wash to create a used wooden floor.

And some smoke for some oil.

I lowered the suspension as much as possible. For this modification I had to remove the whole mudguard, and the wheels will hit the front seat :!:

I painted the chassis black and added a lot of rust on it. I also painted the engine and gave it a oil wash.

The wheels are painted black and also got some rust. The tyres got some whitewalls but I still have to wheater them. Now they are to clean.

The dashboard got a PE radio and PE speedtacho.

For the first time I used my airbrush to paint the seat. I wanted a light grey seat, and after that I added some Scale Motorsport Interior Upholstery decals on it.

The chassis could now assembled.

After placing the wooden floor, I also wanted some beetle parts on it. So I used my beetle spareparts and made them rusty and placed them in the bus.

The frontseat was also wheatered.

The dash was placed in the body. I also added some metal axles for the safari window.

On the body I added 2 more decals. One hoodride under the frontlight and the thrunk I added a rust is not a crime decal.

This is how it looks right now.

After my nightshift I have 3 free days, So it could be possible I finish this one very quick. 24th october I take this model to a contest in Netherland.

Re: VW Type 1 Delivery Van

And here is my last update before the finished pics.

First I added some detail on the frontseat.

I added the last detail on the body, like licenseplates, mirrors and wipers etc.

I also finished the swampcooler. First I drilled some holes for the brass wire. Than I painted it Silver Leaf and added some wheatering and a hoodride decal on it.

Also a rusty licenseplate for the rear

Made the whitewalls a bit dirty:

Placed the exhaust. Also added a aluminium exhaust tip on it.

The roofrack is also finished. I glued the parts on it, so it can't move.

I don't know if I glue that rack on the roof or leave it apart from it.
