surging & dying once normal operating temp. is reached
Hi, I would appreciate your help. My 99 Grand Prix 3.8 supercharged surges really bad once the car gets warm, and now it's dying as well. It runs fine until it's warmed up. It also cuts out at various speeds. The service light just came on and is staying on. I had auto zone read it and some of the possible causes among many were the map sensor and mass air flow sensor among other things. I really can't afford to just start replacing parts, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

If they didn't do a code print-out for you, get the list of codes and post them here. We could guess all day, with the codes we can actually help you.

Hi,
Thanks for responding to my post. Here is the code I got from auto zone P0102. Thanks for your help. |

Seen that code a few times it usually leads you to a bad MAF after testing is complete.

I took your advice and cleaned it, but it didn't do any good. I was really hoping that would take care of the problem.

Re: surging & dying once normal operating temp. is reached
You can test to check if the MAF sensor is bad by disconnecting the sensor and drive around to see if you can duplicate the problem. If you can duplicate the problem then the MAF is the problem, or if you can't then the MAF is not bad.
