Backlight for Headlight Switch?

The little backlight bulb for my '99 GTP Headlight Swich module must have burned-out; Has anyone successfully opened one of these up, to replace the backlight bulb?
Because they seem pretty pricey: approx $150.
I believe the GM part number is: 10249112
Thanks!

Re: Backlight for Headlight Switch?

What I would use is a LED, that way it will be a very long time before it will need to be replaced again. There is a write up on replacing the incandescent lamps in the switches using LEDs to replace the incandescent lamps, but not for the headlight switch module.

Yeah I put that write-up there.

LED's would be better, but you still need to desolder and solder the new one in.

Taking apart the switch shouldn't be too big of an issue.

If nothing else just buy a used one.
