2001 Montana- Interior lights do not come on

Hi All

I have a 2001 PontiacMontana, and now, none of the interior lights will come on. I have checked the override switch up near the centre console, checked the fuse, checked all of the switches, turn the slider knob under the headlight switch, and still nothing. I am at a total loss right now. I want to get it fixed as it is my wife’s car and do not feel it is safe at night. Any help would be very much appreciated.

My neighbor had this problem that turned out to be a loose soldered connection in the roof override switch.

Re: 2001 Montana- Interior lights do not come on

As a suggestion, take a simple 12V test light "tool" and test behind the factory internal light switch. If 12V power on one side of the switch and its NOT passing through the switch, the factory switch is broken (and needs to be replaced). If power in the switch, test each side of the internal bulbs as well. Could be a bad bulb (even though it looks good) or could even be the wire going from switch to dome light. Hopefully, it isn't a hidden wire problem. Especially within the vertical pillar posts or within its roof liner. Those locations are difficult to fix broken wires. Hopefully, its only a simple broken factory light switch. re: OK on one side but not on the other side of the switch...

Hope this helps as well...
