uncontrollable high idle with no throttle...

Hey i have a 92 sunbird for just a winter beater...and just earlier today i turned it on to go home from work and it just went into this retarded uncontrollable high idle without even putting my foot on the gas pedal. nothing works to try and bring the idle down, tapping the gas pedal, jumping the clutch, nothing. input?

Re: uncontrollable high idle with no throttle...

Sounds like either a vacuum leak or the IAC. Check all vacuum hoses and pull the IAC and check it both electrically and for sticking.

Idle air circuit. It controls the idle on fuel injected cars.
