Save the Boobies !!!

That is the name of a new PSA put out in Canada for Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October). Some people in this country seem to have mixed emotions about whether or not this PSA sends the 'proper' message. Leave it to the politically correct and "too sensitive" members of the US population to take issue with it. I think it gets the message across to it's target audience, young people 18 and up. What do you think?

I wore my "Real Men Wear Pink" t-shirt the other day and a woman thanked me for it.

I told her, "I like boobies, too." She smiled and told me she was a 5 year survivor. I wished her well and we went about our business. If she had an issue with the use of the word "boobies", I think she more than anybody would have say in it.

Some people don't have enough to worry about sometimes.

Well, the popular media and the muli-billion-dollar women's fashion and cosmetics industry regularly exploit the female form and sensibilities to sell merchandise and make money.

Why should breast cancer ignore such an effective marketing tool?

Imo this is a slow news day for the media. They are objectifying this issue to fill a newspaper/ news show and grab attention.

Next, what we now need is a new angle on a men's issue such as "People for Prostates!"

Here's a link to boobie-thon, a fund raising site. The link is work safe, but the galleries are not. So far, they've raised over 6500 bucks for breast cancer.

My sis in law died of breast ca years ago, so I don't make light of it, but we still have to go on living and enjoy what we have.

I say go for it. Everyone else is and this is a much better cause.
