99 rear shocks????any help would be greatly appreciated
well my rear shocks went out like 2 months ago,now im going to change them i purchased a set of gabriel hi-jackers from autozone and im wondering if anyone would know if the factory self-leveling system lines to the shocks would work on these or would i have to get different lines?? and im also wondering if anyone has personally bought these before or would know how they ride compared to factory i know these arent the best shocks just wondering how bad they could be compared to blown ones, thanks
also ive never changed the shocks on this car before so if anyone has any advice i would really appreciate,or pics or anything from someone who has went through the process, thanks |

We used the gabriel line for about 6 months. We had so many problems with them that we have not even thought about using them again!
Every once and a while you'll run into an issue where the inlets on the shocks are in a slightly different position than the originals. Sometimes there is enough slack in the lines to work around it and sometimes there is no way the lines will make it to the aftermarket shocks.

Quote:
What shocks are good replacements for the factory air-leveling shocks. Monroes don't have sensatrac replacements; they have an air shock. |

I think the gabriels are the same thing. #49228's? Those are an air shock kit just like the manoroes. I'm almost positive those will not work in the air ride equipped vehicles. The last ones I did came from the dealer.

Monroe Max-Air Part # MA-822 will work fine. In fact, Monroe considered them as a SensaTrac replacement for the 97-05 PA. Gabriel's work well on an off-road truck!

I have the MA822 on my 03 Bonneville... Very easy to install, connects directly to the stock lines with no issues and is a beefier shock than stock.. Car has a good ride with those shocks..
