Honda NSR 500 Nastro Azurro * Parts Panel *

Hi guys,

for my fathers birthday I want to make something unique. I saw Tamiya's and Tami's parts panel already, and I also had this idea for a long time now.

We have a nice poster of the Honda NSR 500 driven by Rossi on the wall, so this would be cool next to that poster.

First I bought the kit:

Today I bought the paints for this bike.

Yesterday I bought a nice panel with 4.5 cm dept. This would be perfect.

The cowling of tis bike is 1 piece, so I'll cut it into two, so it fits better in this panel.

Kris.

Here's my first update.

First I started with the cowlings. Because they didn't fit into the display panel, I had to cut them in half.

So I used my saw and did the job.

After a coat of white primer, I painted them TS-26 Pure White.

The mudguard and tank are painted TS-16 Yellow.

Today I had time to mask off the cowlings. The upper cowling needs to be yellow and the other cowlings needs some MS-5 Metallic Gray.

In the end of the day I clearcoated them with one layer TS-13. That's better for the decals.

A couple days ago, I also painted the wheels with TS-Gun Metal.

The frame and rearlink parts are also painted already.

For the seat I used Scale Fabric black.

I sanded the tyres:

And pianted the brakediscs.

Kris.

Great progress!
BTW I like your idea of making 'parts panel' yourself. Now you made me want to give it a try as well.

Great job on the painting. These part panels are really sweet. Not that I would pay the Tamiya price though, better to do it yourself, like you do.
Best of luck.
