Sorry, confused the issue, I meant the door side skirt.

IIRC was a different spec, but think it was the layup (can't remember), but 96 doors didn't have the bottom side skirt, which was fixed on the 95 doors. Obviously, these could have been removed in 96 during a refit/paint etc.

The car had it on its launch image and IIRC also the first couple of tests, but was then retro-fitted to full 96 spec.

Youre right I had clean forgotten about the skirts not being on 1996 cars and they had a different bottom treatment on the luggage doors also.

The 96 spec GTR,s did run with the 95 spec skirts from the start of the season till LeMans week. The new spec, which I think was an aero update? and was used mainly by the BMW/Fina cars. Then it was a mix of use, for the rest of the year,
03R & 06R ran with DPR spec door ducts and luggage doors all season.

Re: which F1 is autocar driving here

It was a man from Norway apparently, not Sweden, who had an 'off' in the car.....

You'll need to rehost that image as they have blocked viewing unless someone is registered for their website.

Re: which F1 is autocar driving here

Interesting read!!

Someone told me, that the journo is now hiding on.......

"The dark side of the moon"

OK, I know crashing can happen to anyone, I DO IT ALL THE TIME I,d rather have a McLaren GTR crash on my CV, Than crashing a Reliant robin up a tree.
