Exclamation 1997 Lesabre ac/heat blower

I have a bad blower on my 1997 lesabre. I took the glove box off and the bottom panel and can still not locate where the blower is at? any one know where the blower is on a 1997 Lesabre. Thanks

They are easy to remove. Be gentle on the plastic around the heater fan because it becomes brittle from heat and age in some cars.

You didn't say much about your symptoms. IS your car an automatic temp control unit? Have you checked the blower by connecting directly, with a fuse in line, to the battery positive and a ground to see if it will run. That eliminates the blower control module which is in the air duct above where the blower is; they sometimes fail. Often a blower motor gives noises and rattling or strange speeds when it's going bad.

If your car is manual controls, you have a resistor set that is wires and the high speed is a separate circuit. So if all resistor circuits (speeds) are out, the high will still work.

It hasnt been working for going on a year. At first i could hit it and it would come on, and it would also come on at random times. I can see that when i switch it from heat to AC it is switching behind the dashboard. it just has no air blowing. It does not work on high or low, it is completely done. I can get heat and AC but it is just from air circulating through, it doesnt blow out, just comes through from it being open i guess. i asked my buddy, who is a mechanic, and he told me it was the blower motor. i have never changed one but am now confident i can do it. Th hardest part i see is trying to get it out and putting the new one in. I might have to take few things apart to get more space. If you have any advice i would appriciate it, i will be starting on it 1st thing in the morning.

From what people have posted it just comes out a little and you rotate and have room to wiggle it between the motor and firewall. Luckily I've not had to replace mine on a 98 leSabre. Good luck. I'm sure it will go fine.

Re: 1997 Lesabre ac/heat blower

Just finished! took about 2 hours, with most the time trying to find the tools i needed. Had to take off a bar that runs across the top of the whole engine and then just a little bracket. The only problem i caused was the plastic cracked a little because it was hard from the heat like what was posted above. I Just put some duct tape around where it cracked. It works great except it only blows out of my 2 drivers side vents. The passenger's vent are not blowing out hardly at all. I also dont have cold air coming out, but i assume i just need to charge the AC since I havn't used it in a while. The heat works great again, winter is coming so i may just hold off on the AC till spring and then figure out why it isnt cold.
