Fuel pump connector and Delphi vs AC Delco

The Delphi fuel pump that I bought for my 2002 Blazer 4 door comes with a new flatter GT280 connector which requires that you cut in to the wiring harness of the Blazer and replace the existing square 4 pin connector. Is this the preferred approach? Do all replacement fuel pumps have this "new" connector or do some of them come with the connector that I have?

Also, is there any difference between a fuel pump that is labeled Delphi vs one that is lableld AC Delco?

No all do not all makes and models come with it
Just be glad you comes with the improved wiring plugin.
Some fuel pumps you have to buy the plugin extra.
If it comes with the new connector you have to us it.
And solder wires and seal solder connections instead of using but connectors.

Delphi is AC.
Delphi makes fuel pumps for GM.

After replacement always check fuel pressure to make sure you fixed the problem.

On numerous occassions, I have purchased A.C.Delco parts that arrived in Delphi boxes, including a fuel pump assembly. I could peel back the Delphi label to reveal the Delco labels.
A.C.Delco (GMC) spun off certain Divisions to Delphi.

I've put 3 different Delphi pumps in my truck, all have been the same part number.
The unit I installed last year had a different connector I had to splice into the harness.

Thanks guys. Here is what I found.

The parts guy at Chevy told me that AC Delco is still the parts division of GM. Many suppliers source parts in to AC Delco, Delphi used to be one of them on at least fuel pumps. He does not know if Delphi was the sole source but he believes that in this last round of financial troubles, Delphi is no longer a source for any parts. I looked at a $410 AC Delco pump at a local supplier and it looked identical to the $305 Delphi pump so I bought the Delphi.

The connector on the AC Delco, the Delphi, and an Airtex after market all had the new connector.
