I'm still trying to figure out how this whole fiasco went from ill-timed outburst, to claims of... racism?

The funny thing is, I haven't spoken with a single person yet who thinks this was anything more than a frustrated legislator voicing his objection at an (admittedly) less than appropriate time. That's it. To think that complete idiots like this Dowd character (and others -- including a certain peanut farmer who, ironically, is the very definition of inappropriately voiced opinions) are even given any face time for their lunacy smacks of true racism -- racism against my sanity! (What, it's not possible to be racist against sanity? Apparently it's possible to be racist for voicing one's disagreement with a particular stance on an issue, so considering that, I don't see how my argument is any less valid!)

Seriously though -- if you are one of the minority who are actually buying into this whole bucket of hogwash, please do us all a favor and just. go. away. Personally, racism would be so dead last it's nonexistent on the list of why I think Obama (and his assorted minions) are the most dangerous people in the United States.

I am a big supporter of Obama, and I admire Carter, but I agree; it's a big mistake to bring accusations of racism into this.

Such accusations only serve to further inflame ill-informed attitudes and opinions on both sides of a number of issues at hand. Racism is difficult to prove, distracts people from the issues and is absolutely not constructive.

I am sure some people have undeserved negative racial attitudes towards Obama. So what? It's inevitable that politicians will be the subject of such undeserved bias from some of the electorate. Some people think Pres. Bush is a mouth-breathing idiot, (deserved or not). But he worked around such attitudes and never seemed to blame them for his problems, as far as I know.

Imho, racism is just another stupid, disrespectful opinion. By pointing out racist attitudes, Carter gives some legitimacy towards the racists..... and gives some Democrats a potential excuse for any failures they may have.

In addition to Jimmy Carter being such an embarrassment for the people in the state of Georgia, we also have Henry Johnson the Democrat Representative for Georgia - (better known around here as, "Numb-Nuts") making outlandish statements, such as the one shown below!

I guess we'll probably have folks putting on white hoods and white uniforms again and riding through the countryside intimidating people. That's the logical conclusion if this kind of attitude is not rebuked.

This is an interesting topic to me because I know that there ARE people who believe Obama to be doing a terrible job because of his race. That isn't to suggest that they are the majority in this instance, but I think to simply say "they don't exist," would be acting naive.

I think part of the problem is the portrayal of the issue by the media, who are taking this idea and running with it to the umpteenth degree. As a member of the media, I'm always finding myself disappointed with the way so many journalists spin things.

the diesel does a little better at 35mpg.

but those are based on the combined cycle testing.

He is a Muslim communist,want to screw this country more making it a communist country.His gun ban bills he proposes will not pass,the NRA is way too powerful and he does not know this.His solution to the gun problems are more gun control laws and gun contol does not work.It has been proven,Canada with their handgun bans including the UK have higher crime rates.Austrailia has high crime rates too,banned certain guns.Look at states with concealed weapons laws including Michigan and Texas,crime rates are down and this has been proven.
