2000 Alero 3400 engine - front wheel noise
I have a noise coming , what seems to be from the front driver side (wheel). I think it might be the wheel bearing. I had the right (passenger)side bearing replaced about three years ago.
Is this something I could do myself? Any links or info on to how to do the job? Any special tools? Thanks |

Re: 2000 Alero 3400 engine - front wheel noise
They just bolt into the knuckle from the backside. You will need an axle nut socket and a torque wrench to torque the axle nut after replacing the bearing. Failure to torque will result in premature failure of the bearing!!
You can spin the wheel by hand and hold onto the strut spring. If you can feel a vibration its probably the bearing.
