Need help with overheating engine please

So for the long explanation but i summarized it all at the bottom.

Yesterday after filling up with some gas i notice my car engine temp was getting a little high. I parked and turned off my engine just before the temp hit the red area.

Later on after it cool down i came back to my car and filled it up with 50/50 antifreeze. On the way back home it started acting up again. Eventually i found my way home car still running.

Today i tried adding my antifreeze directly into the radiator because i realize i did not do that the other day. Well my car does not seem to be overheating but i did not drive long (10min) until i started to notice the my engine was spurrting. While in idle the engine would dip as if it was going to stop but than began to idle.

I went back home and notice some steam coming from engine near the engine on the driver side but could not tell exactly where and i hear a low hissing. In short can anyone tell me what i need to do or at least what the problem is?

Summary:
- 94 Honda Civic DX
- Car overheating so filled it with antifreeze
- Problem still persisted so filled the radiator directly with antifreeze
- Car no longer over heats but only tested for 10 mins going around 30mph
- Notice car almost stopping when in idle (while idling engine seems to slow down as if its going to turn off but starts idling again)
- Parked my car looked under the hood and saw steam coming from near the ac compressor and alternator area can not tell where exactly.

I checked behind the pulley and im not sure but i think i see a very small puddle of what looks like a coolant stain. This is the first time anything went wrong that involved the cooling system. Also probably for the past few months my A/C does not work but i never turned it on when i found that to be an issue.

Update
On the way home last night my car temp began rising pretty fast so i turned up the heater to hopefully drop a little bit so i could find a safe place to park. The strange part was it was blowing cool are at me even though my car was supposed to be overheating. Is that normal?

Also my car stopped doing the idling thing as mention before.

Re: Need help with overheating engine please

Is there white smoke coming from the exhaust.
If so could be a head gasket.

Re: Need help with overheating engine please

If the coolant is low enough than there will be not be enough to flow through the heater core. No coolant through the heater core = no heat.
