I just picked up a 98 PAU for a great price. However, it has issues! The main thing being the driver's power seat. It is all the way back as far from the steering wheel as possible and won't move forward. Whenever I push the multi-function button I can hear a whirling noise under the seat and the rest of the lights on the car dim. So, it must be drawing some amps, but there's no action.
I'm reading that this is a very costly fix, if you can even find the parts. Is a whole new rack my only option? I would have never bought this car had I known the fix was $1,000. I only paid $2,200 for the dang car with 95,000 miles. |

Re: 98 PAU driver's seat issue
If this is the only problem with the car and it is in good condition, it doesn't seem too bad. I'm sure that you can find some parts at some scrapyard for far less than $1000....
