08 door handle recall??

just got a letter today about a recall for the door handles on our 08 vue.
has anyone else delt with this yet?

acording to the letter, there is a problem with the doors not staying latched, and it's only the ones with body color door handles, and the fix it to replace them with chrome door handles.

that's all fine and dandy, HOWEVER, I really don't like chrome, and fail to see how the color of the hadle has any effect on the function of the internal latching mechanisum.

anyway, sorry for that little rant, back on topic;

so, has anyone delt with this recall yet, and if so, did you HAVE to get chrome handles, of were you able to just get new body color handles??

well, I just got off of the phone with the saturn customer assistance center.
at this time, if you are having problems with your doors, the only option is to get them replaced with the chrome handles. however, the guy said that in a couple months, they should have new body color handles available.

I'm currently not having any issues wtih our doors, so I'm going to wait untill the body color handles are available.

did I mention that I really do not like chrome.

There replacing them with only chrome so that the customer knows it has been changed, because we all know that there are some techs out there that wouldn't change them because they are the same color and just sit around and collect there hour
