Based on your description of the problem, which is similar to mine on my '03 GM when it began to fail, I would suggest your problem is in the head unit in the dash.

If you pull the unit from the dash, disconnect the vacuum harness on the back and check for vacuum at the harness with your finger. You should feel suction on the black line if I recall correctly. That would be the vacuum source. The problem is that the head unit is not switching the vacuum to the other lines (blue, red, and yellow) which control the vacuum moters that work the doors to move air flow around.
