yellow lights flashing on consol, a/c dont work

1998 plymouth voyager with 3.0 motor that has yellow lights flashing on the consol below the radio which is missing. The a/c wont turn on and the radio is missing so im not sure if theres something to do with the wiring to the radio thats affecting the a/c power or what. The consol is flashing yellow but everything else works fine. What could be the problem? (EDIT) This van doesnt have climate control, just standard model with no power anything accept cruise ctrl. Also blower works fine just the a/c compressor doesnt turn on at all because you could hear a difference ofr notice a bit of strain on the motor if it did. The yellow flashing lights is to me a trouble like code through the electrical system letting me know theres a missing power or ground source somewhere but im speculating. Since the radio was missing, im assuming the person may have nicked a wire leading to the a/c button or knocked loose a harness or something. Im going to check it out today and see if i can find anything unusual inside there.

I'm not sure what your saying about the ac? Are you saying the blower won't blow, or it blows, but, the air the isn't cool? If it bows but the air isn't cool, I'd check to see if the compressor clutch is engaged? I don't have an answer about the yellow lites.

May be as simple as a climate control calibration that you can do yourself. Trouble is the A/C has to be working before you can do it. We'll need the answers to disignition's questions first.

Hey I'm part of the yellow lights club so I know where you are coming from--My 97 has been doing that for about two years now and I have never figured it out..I have checked relays--reset the ac and was even considering an exorcism...if you ever get a handle on it please let me know!! PS-- I have a radio.

Re: yellow lights flashing on consol, a/c dont work

have you ever had it checked out at a local mechanic or called and asked the dealership what it might be? Nice to know im not the only one out there with this issue. LOL j/k! But will do if i hear something. Theres gotta be someone thats had this prob and fixed it some how. I think its a wiring issue thats not allowing the a/c to turn on. Maybe a loose connection at a wiring harness or short out or sumthn.

I had that problem and I believe this is what i did to fix it. It happened after a dead battery was replaced. Everything functioned OK but those lights drove me nuts.

Re: yellow lights flashing on consol, a/c dont work

when the ligths are blinking and your ac clutch fuse is ok you migth need to reset the tempeturee control unit(that unit with all the yellow ligths blinking): turn unit to max hold the up and down buttons. for 5 secc. the unit will comence the reset sequence wait until top button flashes slowley the press it. flashing ligths should shtop by now turn ac button and wait to start the cold air. hope this helps
